January 2012 - Skye Skrapper, #11

Skye Skrapper Standing tall at 5’11” (off skates!) it’s plain to see how this derby girl earned the name Skye Skrapper.

Since joining the league in the summer of 2010, Skrapper has quickly become one of the most enthusiastic and dedicated members of Santa Cruz Derby Girls. Her infectious positivity and continuous support for her fellow skaters has made her a highly respected member of the league – and a friend to all!

Skrapper is not only known and loved by her fellow SCDGers, but also by members of nearby leagues, whose scrimmages she often attends. She’s been known to skate almost every day of the week, and her ability to use her long limbs to impede opposing skaters is clearly understood! Skrapper’s awesome transformation as a skater over the past year earned her the “Siren Skater To Look Out for in 2012” award. As Sirens Interleague Liaison for 2012, this towering inferno of energy and dedication is working hard toward getting the Sirens off the ground as a serious, competitive team. Here's to Skrapper, our first Derby Girl of the Month for 2012!
