265 Reidell Skates with PowerDyne Reactor Aluminum Plate and G-Rods 2.0. Just upgraded to the SCAB Kneepads to protect my knees from falls.

Skating History:
I started skating really young and competed competitively in artistic roller skating for four years from age 9 – 12 and I’ve been playing roller derby since 2007.    

Why Derby? 
There is no greater sport than roller derby and I have played a lot. The actual sport itself is amazing, extremely physical and aggressive and completely team oriented. My fellow teammate, Eden Yourheartout, once said, “It’s sanctioned violence against other people who like it too.” The camaraderie between your teammates is a bond unexplained. My life would not be the same if it wasn’t for roller derby; it truly saved my soul.

Drama, Bad Attitudes, Crocs and while we're at it Tevas with Socks

Fascinating Information:
I’ve had four shoulder surgeries, six breaks in different places on my bodies, more sprains than I can count and only one of my injuries is from derby. My husband wonders every day how I manage to play derby and I'm not in a full body cast.
